Supporting pupils who are worried
We are all very aware of an increase in the number of children who are presenting as worried and anxious, whether that be about the war in Ukraine, COVID or about school in general.
In response, The Educational Psychology Service is re-promoting the guidance document Let’s Talk About Worry, that they first produced during COVID lockdown.
The updated version attached now contains links to two videos.
The first is for adults who support children - https://biteable.com/watch/moving-forward-together-lets-talk-aboutworry-2653778/3512e1defd89e67a54a78b899add7168327495f3
The second video is a new one for adults to share with children.-https://biteable.com/watch/3437793/28ff8d7911f48e232440e96de6ab5b95
This video is based on the book, “The Boy Who Wanted to Know” written by Sam Keys, a Newcastle SENCO, which has already been shared at SENCO network. Both videos are aimed at primary aged children, but the ideas in them can also be used with older children
