Summer 2

Friday 24th June - Week 3 - Summer Term 2

This week the children's completed Mr Garrod's writing challenge. The children were thrilled to accept the challenge and wrote some wonderful stories. Year 6 were so excited to come down to our classroom to listen to the children read their stories. They have enjoyed listening and re-writing the story of The Lighthouse Keeper's Catastrophe.

In Maths this week, the children have been continuing their fractions work and have been learning how to find a quarter. They started by finding a quarter of a shape and then a quarter of an amount/number.

Friday 17th June - Week 2 - Summer 2

The children have worked really hard this week in all subjects. We have started a new collection of stories called The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch by Ronda and David Armitage. The children have loved the story so far, finding out about what a Lighthouse Keeper does in his job and learning lots of new vocabulary.

In Maths, we have began our fractions topic, finding a half of shapes, objects and amounts. Next week, we will be finding a quarter of shapes, objects and amounts.

On Tuesday, we had sports day. A huge thank you to Miss Cowling who organised such a fantastic afternoon for the children. They all took part in all activities and loved it.

Friday 10th June - Week 1 - Summer 2

The children have had a busy week this week. All children completed their Phonics check this week and all tried their very best. Well done Year 1, I am so proud of you all. Thank you to all parents who have supported their children with reading, spellings and phonic games, to support this check.

Have a lovely weekend.
