Pizza Chefs!

Today year 3 have made there own pizza bases and fresh pizza sauce. We are leaving our dough to prove over night and will shape the dough, spread the sauce, add our toppings and cook the pizzas tomorrow in our pizza oven. 😋😋😋

Sports day!

Everyone had a great sports day! Fantastic team work, participation and support all round. Congratulations to the red team winners! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Well done year 3 for being this weeks circle of fitness winners!

Light and Shadow

Today year 3 investigated what happened to their shadow at different times of the day. We found out that our shadows are longer in the morning and later in the afternoon when the sun is lower in the sky. our shadows were shortest at noon when the sun is highest in the sky. This is because the rays fall vertically on the body.

Pesto pasta

Year 3 have been growing there own basil. Today we used it to make pesto pasta. The children used a pestle and mortar to grind the basil, pine nuts, Parmesan, olive oil & lemon juice together to make pesto. Then they mixed the pesto through the cooked pasta and enjoyed eating it!

Digital art

This week in computing the children used pixilart to create a landscape reflection. They have learned to use various line and fill tools, to copy & paste, to zoom & rotate to create reflective symmetry.

A midsummmer night’s dream

The west end schools delivered Shakespeare workshops based on the play ‘A midsummer nights dream’

Year 3 took on the role of the fairies meeting in the forest glade in Act 2, Scene 1. They learned a line each and created their own fairy inspired freeze frames and made this into a short scene.

We have been lucky enough to have a visit from Donavan Christopher the author of the Rappaman books. In the workshop the children were introduced to rapping and word play. They wrote a class rap about Respect and their own rap about themselves. It was a fantastic day. Take a look at the photos and listen to our class rap below!
