Week beginning 24th May
This week in Nursery we will be continuing on with our topic of
'Down on the Farm'.
In our Literacy lessons this week we will be reading Snore! by Michael Rosen and What if? by A.H Benjamin and Jane Chapman.
We will also be focusing on identifying and writing initial sounds and introducing some C-V-C words.
C-V-C words are short words that contain 2 consonants and 1 vowel e.g. cat, pig, hot.
In Maths this week we will be further exploring length and height.
We will be measuring different objects around the classroom to find the shortest and tallest.
Week beginning 17th May
This week in Nursery we are starting our new topic of 'Down on the Farm'. We will be learning about the different Animals that live on a farm, what food they eat and where they sleep.
During Literacy this week, we will be reading the story
Farmer Duck by Martin Waddell.
Maths sessions this week will focus on Length and Height. We will be beginning to use the language short, tall and long when talking about different objects.
Week beginning 10th May
In Nursery this week we will be continuing our topic of
'Things that Grow'.
In our Literacy lessons we will be reading the story The Enormous Turnip. We will sequencing and re-telling the story as well as continuing to practise our letter sounds and formation.
In maths this week we are ordering events of our day and discussing what will happen first, next and last. We also continue to recap our numbers 1-6.
Week beginning 3rd May
This week we will begin our new topic of
'Things that Grow!'.
We will be learning about lots of different things that can grow and what they need to grow big and strong.
We will be reading the story Advocado Baby by John Burningham.
In Maths this week, we will be using our counting skills to learn that a number tells you how many objects are in a group.
Week beginning 26th April 2021
This week we will continue on with our theme of 'Things that Go!'. We have enjoyed learning about lots of different vehicles and modes of transport.
We will be reading the story I wish I were a Pilot by Stella Blackstone in our Literacy lessons as well as focusing on our letter formation and mark making skills.
In our Maths lessons we will be introducing number 6 and looking at how we can represent it in a variety of ways. We will also be continuing to explore 2D shapes, using shapes to create pictures of different vehicles.
We hope you have had a lovely, relaxing, fun filled Easter holidays.
This week we will begin our new topic of 'Things that Go!'. During this topic we will be exploring lots of different vehicles and modes of transport. In our Literacy lessons we will be reading the stories "Choo Choo Clickety Clack!" and "Emergency!" both by Margaret Mayo and Alex Ayliffe, as well as recapping our rhyming skills and our letter recognition and formation.
In our Maths lessons this week we will be recapping our knowledge of numbers 1-5 before moving on to learning about number 6. We will also be looking at 2D shapes and their properties.
We will also be completing our very first Circuit of Fitness!
