Our new topic this week is 'mini beasts'. We have been exploring and playing in our new role play area. This weeks story is 'Superworm'.
We have decorated and made a worm house and went on a worm hunt.
This week nursery have been taking some risks in their play. We used hammers and nails to construct with and made an obstacle course where we needed to use our balancing skills to climb, jump and navigate.
We experimented mixing the primary colours to make a new colour. The children made lovely shades of purple and orange.
We have especially enjoyed 'World Book Day'. We had a whole day of reading and reading activities and got to share wonderful stories at our 'come and read' afternoon.
This week has been the start of our new topic, 'Things that go'. The nursery children have enjoyed role playing with our very own Thomas the tank engine.
We have enjoyed activities related to our new topic, including hand painting traffic lights, our name train, mark making vehicles and road shapes. We have enjoyed our new wake up shake up dance and movement and I am a shape dance.
The nursery children also got to taste some delicious pancakes on Tuesday and talk about what they would give up for lent.
