Week beginning 29th March

 

This week we will be learning about the Easter story and why we celebrate Easter as Christians. 

 

We will also have lots of fun Easter activities across the week.

 

We will also read Hot Cross Bunny by Gavin Scott and We're Going on an Egg Hunt by Laura Hughes.

 

  

 

In Maths we will be naming and exploring the properties of 2-D shapes.

 

Week beginning March 22nd

 

This week in Literacy we will be looking at cold countires and environments. We will be reading Penguin Pete by Marcus Pfister, Geronimo by David Walliams and Charlie Crow in the Snow by Paula Metcalf.

 

  

 

We have now completed our 4 week block on number bonds to 10 and we will be looking at spatial awareness in Maths this week. We will be using mathematical language related to position including in front of, beside, behind, under and above.

 

Week beginning 15th March

 

This week we are beginning a topic of All Around the World. We tasted some delicious foods last week from different countries and this week we will be learning about hot countries. We will read The Mixed Up Chameleon by Eric Carle and Dangerous! by Tim Warnes.

 

 

 

In Maths we will complete our 4 week block on number bonds to 10.

 

In RWI we will revise Set 1 Speed Sounds and reintroduce ay, ee, igh, ow, oo.

Week beginning March 8th

 

This week we are really looking forward to welcoming back all of the children who have been learning at home since Christmas.

 

We will be reading Traction Man by Mini Grey in Literacy and we will be refocusing on our RWI phonics by revising all of Set 1 Speed Sounds.

 

 

In Maths we will be using number bonds to 10 in fun, practical activities.

 

 

Week beginning March 1st

 

This week we will continue our topic Boom! Pow! Thwack! We will read Super Duck by Jez Alborough and Super Daisy and the Peril of Planet Pea by Kes Gray.

 

   

 

In Maths we will continue our work on Number Bonds to 10.

Week beginning February 22nd

 

Welcome back. I hope you all enjoyed a relaxing half term break.

 

This week Miss Coates returns to Reception for her final teaching practice. 

 

Our new topic is Boom! Pow! Thwack! and is all about Superheroes. In Literacy we will be reading all about the adventures of Supertato by Sue Hendra.

 

In Maths we will be learning about number bonds to 10.

 

 

In RWI we will be developing fluency and independence through Red Ditties and we will consolidate all Set 1 Speed Sounds and ay, ee, igh, oa and oo from Set 2 Speed Sounds.
