We've been developing our portrait-sketching skills in art this week, applying the techniques we've learned to some real photographic subjects. Some of the pieces have turned out wonderfully!
It's been another excellent week in Year 6. The children have been rehearsing their skills in a variety of ways during maths and English: a fractions fortune teller proved very helpful for maths revision, and some drama (inspired by R. J. Palacio's 'Wonder') supported great independent writing.
It's a new year, and Year 6 are back in their stride. We've dived into the new class novel, 'Wonder', which the children are thoroughly enjoying. The 'Wall of Awesome' is already brimming with great work.
Also, we had some very interesting post at the end of last term: Catherine McKinnell, our local MP, responded to the children's letters about the issues that affect Lemington. A great example of the power of writing!
