In DT this week we have designed, made and tested model stone age shelters. We tested the models to see if they were windproof and waterproof. Each shelter was placed in front our wind generator for the same length of time and the same wind speed was used to make the test fair. The same amount of water was rained down on each shelter to make the test fair.
We used green screen technology to put ourselves and our cave art onto cave walls. Take a look at our amazing photographs!
Welcome back! I hope you all had lots of spooky Halloween fun! This term we are continuing our stone age topic which will feed into learning about the bronze age and iron age. We will doing a lot of practical activities to support this topic. Today we have turned the classroom into a cave and become stone age artists!
Today the children learned how to make flatbread and cooked it on an open fire just as they would have in Neolithic times. We also baked apples and toasted Marshmallows. We made charcoal paint from the cold ashes and used it as face paint. The Stone Age people used this method to create cave drawings.
