This week the children have been learning our new sound 'd'. We have had fun with 'silly soup' using 'd' objects and playing with dinosaurs and fossils. We have had fun making maps of what we see and hear on our way to school and we had a special visitor come into Nursery to talk to us about road safety. We were taught a great song to remember to keep safe when out and about.
This week in Nursery we have been learning about people who help us through exciting new activities.
We turned our role play area into a Doctors surgery, we know the importance of ringing 999, we discovered what firemen do and we sang our 5 little fireman song.
We also had our first 'Cosmic Yoga' session where we went on a bear hunt. The children were great at following the instructions and making their bodies move into different positions.
Following on from our monster topic, Nursery have been busy learning our new phonic sound 'm'. The children followed the rhyme to practice writing the letter 'm' and had a great go at thinking of objects that start with the sound 'm'. We have been dressing up as monsters, making monster hand pictures, monster socks, decorating monster biscuits and monster junk modelling.
The children also enjoyed there first play dough disco. You were all great with your stretching and rolling!
Week 3- Monsters
This week the Nursery children have been enjoying our topic on Monsters. We have been making Monster shape pictures, Monster masks and drawing our own Monsters with feelings. We have been counting how many friends are in Nursery during circle time and learning new Makaton sign language to sign 'please' and 'thank you'.
This week Nursery have been busy drawing self-portraits, painting with marbles, making toast and following a full day routine. We are very proud of all the children this week!
We have had a busy first week in Nursery! We have been learning all our new friend's names, exploring the Nursery and outside area and learning how to tidy up using our 'mission impossible' countdown. It has been lovely to see how well our new starters are settling in.
