Week beginning 18th October
This week we have been exploring all things Halloween through our topic
Hocus Pocus Potions. We have been making witches potions, creating our own Funny Bones masks and designing spooky Pumpkins. We have also loved decorating our classroom and dressing up in lots of Halloween costumes!
We have enjoyed reading the stories Funny Bones by Allan & Janet Ahlberg, Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper and Five Little Pumpkins by Ben Mantle.
In Maths this week we have continued on learning all about repeating patterns.
We have had an amazing first half term and Mrs Dickinson and I are looking forward to welcoming you all back to Nursery after the holidays.
Week beginning 11th October
This week in Nursery we have been reading Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson in preparation for lots of fun filled Halloween themed activities next week.
We have been using our mark making skills to draw our favourite character from the story.
In Maths this week we have been continuing our exploration of repeating AB patterns. We have used lots of different resources to help us create some super patterns as well as playing pattern games on the Interactive Whiteboard.
Week beginning 4th October
This is our final week exploring our topic of Toys, Tales and Teddy Bears. We will be reading the story Boogie Bear by David Walliams.
We also have Forest School with Miss Cowling on Tuesday afternoon so make sure you wrap up warm and bring your wellies!
In Maths this week we will be learning all about A/B patterns. We will be completing lots of practical activities to help us understand and create different patterns.
Week beginning 27th September
We have another busy week ahead of us in Nursery.
We will be continuing with our topic of Toys, Tales and Teddy Bears by reading the story The Everywhere Bear by Julia Donaldson.
In Maths this week we will be focusing on sorting by various attributes such as colour, shape and size. We will be sorting all sorts of different objects.
Week beginning 20th September
We have had another super week in Nursery and have been very busy indeed!
We have started our short topic of Toys, Tales and Teddy Bears.
We have read the story Kipper's Toybox by Mick Inkpen and have been discussing what our own favourite toys are.
In Maths this week we have been exploring colour. We have been matching, sorting and identifying lots of different colours.
Week beginning 13th September
We have had another fantastic week in Nursery. We are settling in well, making lots of new friends and enjoying our time in school.
This week we have been learning all about ourselves. We have talked about what makes us unique such as our hair and eye colour. We have also discussed our favourite food, colour and toys.
We have really enjoyed our PE and Music lessons this week as well as our outdoor learning activities.
Week beginning 6th September
We have had a fabulous first week in Nursery. We are beginning to follow our new routines and are making lots of new friends. We have enjoyed PE and Music this week as well as lots of other fun, settling in activities.
