Autumn Term 2014 - Where we Live

We begin our Autumn term by learning more about where we live. We will be looking at globes, maps, atlases, as well as searching the Internet, to find out about our planet, our country and our home city of Newcastle upon Tyne.

If you visit any local places of interest, please collect any leaflets, information and photos and bring them into school to share with the class. Can you find out any historical facts about our city?

We will also be learning more about our capital city of London. See what you can find out by visiting the library, looking at books, searching the internet and watching TV programmes.

Look out for famous local landmarks such as the Angel of the North, Grey's Monument and the Tyne Bridge. Can you spot any London landmarks, including Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and Tower Bridge?

Have fun researching our country. I can't wait to see what you can find out!
